Mornin Wayne,
Heck, I deserved one after mowin all that lawn with a push mower for the last few years ! ;) I got a heck of a buy on it from HD. Apparently a guy bought the mower last year used it once and wanted a 50" instead of the 42". They took it back and pallet loaded it somewhere in the garden dept and forgot about it. My buddy that works there part time told me about it, and said you better come down and check this thing out. They had it marked down to $1350 and I ended up buying it for $1270 because I had a 10% off coupon ! :) It does a great job and sure beats pushin ! ;)

I am still using the John Deere rider and also have one of their walk behinds.

At camp I have two walk behinds and also a hover mower that floats on an air cushion that I use to do the hills down to the water front. Now that is fun.

For one section of the front yard I actually hook a rope onto the mower and lower it down the hill then pull it back up. Funny to watch and usually get two or three neighbors around drinking a beer and watching me pull the darn thing up the hill. I really think they hear me start it up and know it is time for a free beer or two! (olde farts)

Mornin Wayne,
Heck, I would give you a free beer to watch that scenario myself ! ;)

BTW how did you ever make out with that flail mower and the parts you needed???

I found the bearing assemblies, actually found one and replaced it only to find out the other end is bad also, poor planning so I just got another bearing assembly for the other side along with the belt tensioning spring so depending upon workload this weekend (Honey Do List) I will be getting back on that project.

Also need to find blades for it, but Kubota gets 4.60 each so I will have to look elsewhere for them. There is a bunch of those little buggers.

Oh and for moving the Hover Mower up and down the hill, it is really easy. The thing takes little or no effort to move. It is the HVT-52 Husqvarna with the Honda 41/2 HP motor. The old ones had a metal blade and might be a bit dangerous if you lost control of it, but this one uses plastic cutters like a weed whacker. Things we will do to prevent us from going fishing or riding the tractor.

Afternoon Wayne,
You might try lookin at Agri-Supply, they have a pretty good inventory of that type of stuff, and maybe a better price also !

Hello Scotty,

I will check them out. I visited my Kubota dealer but way to expensive and they have none in stock.

There is another place up the road I have to visit and from what i understand they have a barrow full of them at a buck a piece. That is about my speed these days.

Picked up the sidding for the front side of the camp (up north) these are 1 x 12 boards and I started putting the stain on them this afternoon. Then here comes the afternoon rain storm. They seemed to stand up to the heavy rains. We will haul them up there next weekend, some of my projects are getting closer to completion. I could buy the lumber up there, but I wanted to get the finish on before installing.
