Cool looking case for it though.

Yes! Those 2 "single loop controllers" on the lower panel look impressive. But notice the process variable 'PV" number they're measuring is nowhere near the setpoint variable (SV) they're trying to achieve.

They also have a technical sounding website.

Reminds me of the saying: If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullsh*t!"

I think people would be better to buy this 1.21 gigawatt (88 mph working speed) Flux Capacitor from O'Reilly Auto Parts

(requires customer furnished DeLorean)

My wife bought me one of those clear perpetual flashlights online a few Xmas ago....lasted a few months. Even though I shook it it kept getting dimmer. I ended up prying off the end that was glued shut. It had 2 aa batteries wired into the lamp. The rest was just a piece of steel that slid thru a coil of copper wire. Nothing on the copper wire was wired to anything. Heck, it probably wasn’t even real copper wire. It was a chinese scam knock off. Never did get a real one. My led flashlights work fine for me.

I believe he is a direct descendant of the guy that sold the Brooklyn bridge.

Later on he patented the perpetual motion machine.

I had one of those, it was wired through the coil, to the batteries. It sorta worked, but you had to shake the ***** out of it. It doesn't work now, because i was showing somebody, it slipped out of my hands on the downward shake and made contact with the concrete at a pretty high speed.

Yeah, had a few of those 'gimmick' flash lights as we have frequent outages.

But today with LED's and COB's there are some real nice 'lights available at modest prices.
So much so that I am scrapping all my incandescent (filament) type flashlights.
Technology simply has walked well past that era.

Recently at a dollar store I purchased ($3.50.cdn) an LED flashlight that had HI/LOW + a walking spot and used 2 AAA cells (included), a magnet on back as well as a hook to hang it conveniently.
.Dang thing lights up any room just like a chandler would.
So cool that they can't keep them in stock.
Also great Xmas gift/stocking stuffer.

LOL, I bought a spare as well, besides keeping one in car, another near the TV and by my bedside.
Wife also has one for her car.

LOL, am I a good consumer?

Buy lots of stuff at the dollar store. Whatever happens, I promise you it will make both heat and light when set on fire in an emergency.

You sure are, PILOON. When you see a good deal, get several! We bought three pistol style LED flashlights that were rechargeable at Canadian tire, for $10 each. Man, are they ever bright!

I recently bought a sportsman 800w (running) inverter generator. Its perfect for running small appliances, charging batterys and will even run my 5cuft chest freezer. Its very portable, very quiet and runs 9hrs on 0.55gal of gas. Cost was under $200 shipped from jet.com

Hope you got a good one. I looked at one to replace my cheapo HF as I would prefer a 4 cycle but I saw a number of poor reviews on the Sportsman 800/1000.

I致e run across 3 different HF predator units that operate 120 just fine, but when hooked up to 240 I get one wild leg of like 170 and the other leg at70. So far all 3 have been HF branded.

The last guy tied into his gen outlet hooked up to his manual transfer switch and fried both refrig and freezer and several TV sets and a bunch of led lights. The old incadescents went super bright, but the leds fried

Not the inverter units. These were gas 5,000 - 8000 w units. All their units have weird ratings like 4,375 watt or 8,725 .... weird

I bought gas for $2.17 a few days ago, propane right now is 1.86 and that's if they will let you get the summer price.

You will burn more propane than you would gas too...

SR
Filled with propane this week for 92 cents per gal.

That could happen with any non inverter unit. My $200 one is an inverter unit and not made by HF. Also its 800w so im not plugging this into my house...ever.

My real generator is a 5kw 800lb military watercooled diesel.
