I think that is standard talk either way.

Neil, I've heard that Bobcat is looking to buy an engine manufacturer. Daedong would be a very likely candiate, take a look at the financials of both companies, it is possible. And there is no question that Bobcat could benefit from vertical integration of the company.

It makes alot of business sense to me. It would give Bobcat a tractor line to drop into all their existing equipment stores. They have a brand loyal following so there is no question there would be a market for the machine. Deadong's factories are some of the smallest yet they must have a complete facility so the capital investment would be smaller than trying to takeover a company with more volume like TYM or Mahindra. Personaly, I hope it does not happen because they will become some pretty serious competition overnight.

You got that right. They're already enough competition for many folks around here. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Funny thing. A large BobCat dealer in Omaha is also a very large Kubota dealer. He's the one that said he would "Never" take a Kioti on trade when he asked me what I owned. Wonder if it actually happens, would he be able to sell the two lines together...

Why would he say that he would never take a Kioti on trade?

Geeze, i hope not. I have read some troubling things about Ingersol Rand lately, and if there is any truth to it i would hope that DaeDong thinks it over long and hard. These buy outs can go either way, and as a Kioti owner i would hate to have to deal with "new owners" that are just interested in a bottom line.

From what I heard of it is Bob Cat is looking for a motor line. If Kioti is doing well it will continue to operate independently. But then again that is hearsay, until it happens who knows.
