I'm getting so sick of hearing how it's everybody and everything else's responsibility to keep you safe.
Should really be teaching... ABSOLUTE responsibility and accountability for your OWN safety. Complacency would go by by and survival instincts would kick in and people would finally start using their heads.
I don't think it works that way, in actuality, ever been to a foreign country where our safety laws do not apply... I've seen people voluntarily doing truly appalling things resulting in high injury/death rates. This risk does not change their behaviour, only results in increased human suffering, reduced lifetime productivity and increased burden to support the maimed and infirm.
