Possible to stack 2 blades on a mower deck spindle?

I have installed these 4-bladed discs by Meg-Mo Meg-Mo Systems - Lawn Mower Blades, Replacement Mower Blades, Sharpen Lawn Mower Blades, Mulch Grass on my Kubota G1800 mower which give me 12 cutting tips rather than 6. The high-lift tips give more suction and chop the leaves better. I use this combination to chop leaves for mulch. Takes about half the passes of the regular blades. Tips are replaceable too. Something to consider, maybe.

I have been running doubles on one of my mowers for about 10 years. The best combo I like is high lift on top, reg. lift on bottom.

I would not weld them or bracket them. Want some give to them should you hit something.

I had a 1950 Gravely L series brush Hog that used a two blade system. It was a very heavy duty machine, and it would cut down a field of ax handles if it had to. The two bladed system worked well.

Old, thread but I'm looking to try doubles as well. I'd like to hear more about peoples combos. I've heard that some use the G6 and a "wavy" blade which I can't seem to find. I currently have a gator style blade, but I'm not sure if its a G3 or a G6. Oregon doesn't list a 25" G3 for my deck so it might be the G6.

Yes, I remember the old Gravelys had a double 30" blade. There was a cross plate the kept the blades from stacking. I remember hitting something once and turned the blade forcing the cross plate to flatten out. Ended up having to cut the spindle bolt off so we could remove the blades.
