I hadn't used the mower in a while so I got it out and gave it a run this morning, 40" three blades, sure is slower than my 5' but it was nice to exercize it a bit. Here's a few pics after I cleaned it up, all 20 years worth of battle scars. No. 6 is the sulky coupling to the axle, bronze insert that runs without lube, lasts for years, I drilled and tapped the first set and greased them, lasted two summers, the grease and dust acted like valve grinding compound and ate them up in no time.

Thanks for pics ! Milkman. In center of wheel attaching for sulky is a very good idea. In this way It is Neutral, independant and more stable. It cannot affect the balance of deck-tractor unit. A next winter project for my Gravely one wheel seat ( see Thread) . What engine is in your BCS 735. Thanks again! Oldmech

The engine is 10hp Acme, the only one I've ever seen and don't know much about them. I've never had any problem with it other than the vapor lock and had to replace the coil about 12 yrs ago, I replaced the PTO coupling this year too, always starts first or second pull and has plenty of power to spare for the tiller and does good with the mower if I don't let the grass get real tall, will probably last me another 20 yrs and that's longer than I'll need it.

I noticed your Pasquali had an Acme diesel, I should have mentioned that my Acme is gas, sure wish it was diesel.
I was looking at some old two wheelers on another site and they mentioned some of them run on petrol, some on diesel, and some on paraffin, over on this side of the ocean, paraffin is a wax that we used to seal canning jars, is that the stuff they were referring to or is paraffin something else, maybe you can clear it up for me. thanks. I just noticed you're on this side too. OOPS
