I had the password/login problem. I can now login using Internet Explorer, but not using Firefox. I have always used Firefox to browse TractorByNet. Is this no longer supported? Any assistance will be truly appreciated. I doubt if I will spend much more time on this site if I can only use Internet Explorer.

I use SeaMonkey which is the full version from the same group as Firefox. I have had no problem.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to hear I may be able to get this working again.

I have repeatedly removed the TractorByNet cookies in Firefox. Muhammad suggested this also. No login.

Hi Mike,

What problem are you having with Firefox? Any error messages? I am using Firefox 1.5.0.4 and have not had any problems.

Hi Mike.

I'm using the exact same version of Firefox that you are. No error messages. When I attempt to login, using the same username and password that I have used to login presently on IE, I just get shunted to the same message that I first received before my password was reset. "You have entered an invalid username or password. ..."

I have used two means to remove TractorByNet cookies. The first was to go to the url provided by Muhammad, http://www.tractorbynet.com/photos/cookies.php and remove them that way. The second was to go to options>privacy>view cookies. I scrolled down to TractorByNet, clicked on it, and clicked remove cookies.

Neither of these methods had any effect in terms of allowing me to login.

Mike.

I've also removed my old password from my password list, although I can't imagine how that could interact when I am typing in my new password. I've also tried clearing my general cache. I've doublechecked to make sure that Firefox is still set to accept cookies, which it is. I am not enough of a computer person to know anything else to check or do. My wife is extremely proficient in such matters, having retired from the computer industry. If you have anything complicated that you would suggest I try, I'm sure my wife will assist and supervise.

Thanks again.

Ahh, a happy ending. I called upon my very computer proficient wife to help. She first tried logging in on her Firefox using my username and password. It worked fine.

She cleared the cookies on my machine once more. When she attempted to login, the usual saved form information came up (when I type an M, my whole username comes up and I click on it to fill in the box). She did the same as I would usually do. No login.

Then she tried again, and simply typed in my whole username. Lo and behold, I was logged in. Somehow, the saved information username became contaminated, I have no idea how, it looked exactly the same, namely correct, but it was flawed.

Man, I was ready to pull my hair out, if I had any. I am so relieved. Thanks so very much to Muhammad, Mike PA, JerryG and dholly. Especially Muhammad, who replied to me several times about this problem.

In an effort to prevent the same problems/questions from being posted in multiple places and multiple times, please post in this thread.
Mike (or any of the other mods) why don't you "merge" the other similar 'user issue' threads into this one so that all of the posts are in one spot? You can leave a "redirect" from the original thread location to this thread, the software will allow that. By doing it that way the people posting into the other threads will still be able to find their thread but will end up being directed into this one.

Mike I posted this in the 'New Forum" before finding this one...

One thing I've noticed is that when you view an attachment in a post and press the "back" button to get back to the thread, you go back to the top of the thread instead of to the post that had the attachment. Have you already addressed this? Did I miss it? Or is there another way to return to that post in the thread without using the "back" button?
Thank you,
Rob-
