Po' Boy's 'free pallet forks' again, just a couple of 2 x 4's run through a pallet.

Here's a photo of them carrying orchard props tied on pallets, to a central stockpile.

I want a set of forks like PaulT's but until I get around to it this is sufficient
for my occasional use.

In-a-pinch these did the trick.

This isn't exactly a set of forks, but it serves the purpose for me.

I just attached a bracket to my carry-all so I can left it with the FEL. Best I can tell, it is limited to acout 800#. I probably won't ever try that much.

I mainly did this so I can lift loads up to the loft in my pole barn. Lumber, snow fence, and other light but bulky stuff I need to get out of the way for a few months.

I have been looking around for a set of forks for my FEL, but being a tight wad, I didn't want to pay for a new unit at over $500. So, I got to thinking, and started looking around for an old forklift. I finally got lucky the other day and found one that had been in a fire, and the owner told me to take what I wanted. So, I took the forks, and the assembly that the forks ride on. After I got home, I cut out the side shift back plate and was left with just the plate the forks ride on. After staring at it for a bit, I realized that it would sit on the quick attach plate as is. All I had to do was add width to assist with hook up. I got all the welding done last night, and will post some pics as soon as I put it together.

Ok, heres some pics before clean up and paint. I uses some steel I had laying around to add width to make it easy to center and hook up. We also added some tubing at the top of the vertical tube with an eye towards making a removable grapple assy.

Looks like a really nice job. That vertical addition will also help to keep the load from falling backward I would think. John
