Hello All !

I'm new to this site and am glad I discovered it. Everyone posting here has so much to contribute, especially to a new, potential sub-compact tractor buyer like myself.

I'm in Erie County, PA and priced both a BX 1850 and a BX 2350 at 3 different dealers, one in neighboring Ohio and two here in Erie County. The best price of the three was my local dealer, Pennock's in McKean, PA.

I'll be using the tractor for grass cutting and snow removal. So, at this time I'm only interested in the tractor with MMM deck. Snowblower to be added at a later time.

Here are the prices my local dealer quoted me:

BX 1850 with 54 inch deck = $9300.00 + 6 % tax of $558.00 = $9858 delivered.

BX 2350 with 60 inch deck = $10,500 + 6 % tax of $630.00 = $11,130 delivered.

What do you think on the above prices ? I want to take advantage of the 0 % financing rate (free money) but I have until the end of June 08 to use the Kubota interest rate, so I'm in no real rush to buy.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone....so do I keep shopping or do I go with Pennock's in McKean, PA ?

DG

not my models so I can't tell you about the price.... but when your going for service later it will make a diffrence...check out the dealer customer service department, hang around have a cup of coffee and talk to other about them it will pay off in the long run. The customer service gal who knows the tractors inside and out at my dealer is on my christmas list, a little home made wine get my tractor pick up and delivered for service at no charge etc...

Hello
Does it come with the front end loader?
If not get it,it is indispensable around the house
With a rear snowblower you have all your bases covered
Less expense to get now than to have added later
As to which one that is your choice as both are great machines
If clearance is'nt an issue get the 60"

Although I'm not up to date on current prices, I bought a BX2200 five years ago for about 9000 + tax. If you're really thinking about a snowblower (I have the BX2750 and really like it) you might be able to finance it with the tractor. My BX is a real workhorse!
Best Wishes!

I would move up a size to gain more ground clearance.

DG,

Welcome to TBN. I discovered this forum a little more than a month ago and have found it to be extremely helpful to me, interesting to read, very creative with ideas for saving time and money, on and on.

I bought a new BX 1800 in 2003 with a BX 2750 front mounted snowblower, a 54 inch mmm. I added a 6 foot rear blade about a year later. I have turf tires on my rig and, with the 4 wheel drive, have not found the need for anything else. We live in an area that gets a fair amount of snow through the winter....especially this one. I could not be happier with my Kubota and the attachments I have for it. I find now that I use the blade for clearing the light snows and then blow the piles into the woods with the blower. For storms that dump 12 inches or more, I use the blower and does that thing earn it's money. I have not used a FEL, but my brother has a Grand L30 Kubota with one and finds it impossible to clean his driveway (a quarter mile long) with it, only because of the time it takes to scoop the snow, dump it, get back to the next segment, etc. I've read the same thing here about fel's for snow removal on a big scale. Then the debate shifts to front mounted or rear mounted snowblowers. I like the front mounted, but know that it cost a little more. I just like driving forward when blowing and have no regrets with the front mounted selection.

You'll find almost immediately that you don't have enough lights on your tractor, so you'll need to add some. I would also read the threads about alternators versus Dynamo's and negotiate an alternator as part of your purchase (which, by the way, looked good to me and I think Kubota has some pretty enticing financing deals going on right now, so it's hard to resist.) My dealer has been excellent for service related issues, but there haven't been many. With very little mechanical ability, you'll be able to perform many of the routine maintenance projects yourself. Buy some extra filters, shear pins, and go have fun.

Hello every one ,i'm new to this site and glad to have found it,been reading for some time but here is my first post to Delta3-2,I live in alabama and cannot afford my local dealer on new stuff, but I found one about 1hr away in ATHENS ALABAMA, CALLED WRIGHT'S KUBOTA (phillip) is the owner and is a really good guy to deal with,I have a 2230 and bought it with 40hrs.used from individual locally ,but priced a new one where i live ,then at wright's and was 1000 dollars cheaper on just about anything I priced, my local dealer wanted 10400-10800,and wrights was around 9400-9200.00 with a 60 inch d
eck & bars or turf's, hope this is some help, don't really know about shipping costs as gas is high now!

No sales tax out of state also.

I bought my 2350 18 months ago - had the same decision process, 18 vs 23...

I have not looked back one day - the ground clearance and extra HP have really paid-off...not only working FEL, but moving snow and snow banks as well.

BX2350, FEL, 60 MMM and bagging system - setup/delivered to my driveway was $15,200. I took advantage of the 0% for 36 months on the add-ons too.

I price-shopped quite a bit and still feel I got a reasonable deal. Sure there might be a better one, but dealer has been great - so no complaints.

The 60" MMM is definitely worth it - easier to maneuver around trees/obstacles - greater distance from rear wheels as well as the extra gauge and self-balancing...

I viewed this like buying a boat - you can never get one too big :)

Best of luck...

Hello Everyone !

I just want to thank all of you for responding to my posted comments. What a great forum, everyone is helpful and your input is appreciated. I'm still not decided yet and more than likely I'll be visiting my dealer in McKean, PA this coming weekend. He's invited me to "test drive" both the 1850 and the 2350.

I'll let you all know how that goes. In the meantime opinions on my original post regarding pricing are still invited.
