My BX BH has the 3 hoses; P, PB, and T. I would be surprised if the OPs L is different as Kubota tends to repeat systems among its models. But yes the Tank line is a necessity.

That's right. Same as LD1 said. The 3pt control valve doesn't need to have either an external pressure or an external return (tank) line because for the 3pt both of those features are internal. Adding an external valve needs dedicated plumbing.

You mentioned same as backhoe.....

A typical backhoe loop on Kubota is only 2 hoses.

They skip the power beyond off the backhoe, because the only thing downstream is the 3ph which cannot be used.

The ONLY valve in the system that does NOT need a PB is the LAST valve.

Since the 3ph still needs to be used, and used to lift some significant weight with a tree spade....it NEEDS 3-hose hookup. Which is indeed different than most backhoe loops that only have two hoses.

The 3ph doesn't require PB because it is the last one the system. Just the pressure inlet and a return to tank.....which is indeed internal.

I stand corrected partially. My BX is factory equipped to operate a BH as the first implement in line from the pump, therefore the P, PB, and T connections are there; with the BH off the P hose is looped back and connects to the PB hose and the T hose left unused. The OPs L is not originally equipped for a BH. My understanding the L line is considered an AG tractor not a multi purpose like the BX or plumbed that that way when the BH was added, there fore the crux of the whole matter for me. Agreed, the BH does not need the three lines, as the 3 PT is never needed. Plumbed the way his is, the PB system to the 3PT is interrupted. Complete plumbing diagrams of the L hydraulics would help solve how to plumb in his spade and get the operation he desires. If his provided diagram of the valve is the spade that provides where to connect the 3 lines then needed. He needs the connections same as needed to add rear remotes.

To eliminate confusion in our assistance that diagram is essential. When we get into these discussions info from the Shop Manual or from a dealers files is essential. Trial and error can get frustrating and even expensive. Having the Shop manual for my BX has kept my BX out of an expensive dealer shop. Labor rates here are $150-175/hr at dealers.
