Power Hydraulic Steering for small tractors

One of my friends here in Turkey is trying to add a power steering kit to his small tractor (of a size like subcompact.) But, there is no enough space on tractor for usual size steering cylinder. Almost all of steering cylinders are of 20-22" length. Of this length, spool valve occupy about 8"-10" and considering stroke is about another 10", it is impossible to shorten these cylinders considerably. So, any experience on your small (subcompact?) tractors? Do your small tractors have power steering kits and are they with spool valves or other kinds of valves? By the way, due to its high cost, he is trying to avoid hydrostatic power kit.

Rick, at Tractor power steering conversion kit and parts store. custom made a cylinder for my powersteering conversion. I told him the stroke I needed & he did the rest.
