Power Line to my house was broken

/ Power Line to my house was broken #121
Eons ago ... maybe mid 80s or so, I pulled up on an accident scene where a car had taken down a power pole. It had been raining and the pavement was quite wet. As I walked closer to the car, I began to feel a distinctive tingling through my shoes. I very quickly, but carefully reversed direction and shuffled my feet backwards until clear.

What's the old saying? no news is good news :)

So far, nothing has happened.

Oddly, I just got my electrical bill and it was the lowest bill that I've ever had. Any chance that the meter needs the Neutral to work? It's pretty much half of what I paid for the same period last year.

I'm late on these pictures, but this is what my meter and the transformer look like.

How long was your power off from the ice storm

Also look at the service period and see if it's roughly 30 days. I've seen them for less when they want to change the billing periods for some reason.

SHHHH!
🤫

Great picture.
It shows the top wire feeding the top of your transformer.
Your two 120v feeds coming out of the side with the neutral bare wire
in the middle. Notice that bare neutral wire is clamped/crimped to the
bottom wire on the poles AND goes to your house. Makes sense now.
Thanks and thanks Coobie, too. (y)

It was off for a couple days, then it changed for half a day then a quarter of a day. That was a very weird week, but I got the bill for that period of time and it was fairly normal. This past billing period has seen temps into the mid 80s and we have been running the AC. Our bill shows last year's bill and its half the usage, but nothing is very different from last year. It's just very odd.

Half your lines are down = half the bill.

To have a 75 KVA transformer for 1 house is unusual. What are you running electric wise to create the need for such a large transformer??.
