Power Steering - Dumb Question

I have a 1984 555. I am having some power steering issues, and it may just mean adding some fluid. Does anyone know where the PS fluid goes? There is a yellow hydraulic pump, but not willing to put fluid in if I am wrong. Thanks!!

Probably gonna have to wait for RickB to answer this one.. I'm not at all remotely familiar with the industrials.

While I'm at it.. I can reccomend that you may want to get a manual for your machine.

Going out on a limb here.. but I went to the CNH parts site, and looking under 555 3 cyl TLB, and PS/Front axle, and PS pump and resv, I found this diagram.. which looks like a pretty common ford PS pump/integral resvoir...

has a fill cap.. and a filter in there.

Thanks for the quick response. That looks like what I've got. Thanks. This machine is new to me, and has been difficult to figure out. Never had a backhoe - there are too many hose and caps hanging around.

p.s. I can't identify the tractor except by age and general type. I have had therfore had trouble getting the right manual.

If you'll post the data from the manufacturers tag located under the hood you'll get some good info from those who can decipher it.

I know on the ag models, the ID info is stamped on the bellhousing aft of the starter... I can't say if the industrial tlb's have that there or not.

Yes, the data is there on the industrial tractors as well. It is just harder to gain access to.
