Power Steering Help

Sounds like something is screwed up in your steering motor. It should take the same number of turns for a left or right with no pump power since the steering motor is generating the pressure to move the cylinder. You can confirm this by lifting the front end with the loader and trying the steering with the engine off.

I'd still call Tommy.

-More turns needed to turn the wheel to the left than the right.(No weight on the front end via lifting with the FEL)
-I hear noise coming from the pump when I hit the stops in both directions.
-Lifting the front end is complicating the issue. What happens when both front tires are solidly on the ground?
-Normal
-I'm not ready to point any fingers at the steering controller yet. I've been on these forums for years, and don't recall one single occasion of steering controller failure.
-reserving judgment on pump failure, as I'm still unclear about symptoms in a normal operating environment.
-I'd like to revisit the rubber hoses. Remove both, put the right where the left was and the left where the right was. See if your problem now shifts to right turns.

Nothing happens when the wheels are on the ground. The wheels only move with what little pressure I can generate with the steering wheel. You can hear a little noise from the pump just like the noise when the tires are off the ground and I hit the stops. There aren't any leaks in the hydraulic lines.

I counted the amount of turns with engine running and front end of the ground. From wheels straight It took 1 1/8 turns to the right until it stopped. From wheels straight it took 2.5 turns to right. When the weight is on the ground and the fel is in the air the only turning I get is from me wrestling with the steering wheel.

At this point it seems like I would look at the pressure relief first then the pump itself.

Does the pressure relief valve happen to be the one with the stack of washers inside the cap where the spring is at? The cap is next to the pressure line.

Sounds like that is it. I would take it apart very carefully and clean it up then put it back together and give it a try. It may just have a piece of debris holding it open slightly and now not allowing it to develop pressure.

You can try to play with pressure relief, it won't hurt anything at this point. More likely the pump is shot. The number of turns problem however, is likely unrelated. I'd say the cylinder and/or drag link probably need(s) to be repositioned/adjusted.
