Power steering unable to steer with full bucket and no movement. Is that normal?

Remember also if you have the R4 tires on the 2555 they are very wide and would create more drag while your trying to turn.. with a heavy load on the bucket it will feel stiff....

Big question though.... you need to be sure your rear hyd remote lever is in the middle (neutral) position... this has a detent and will hold itself engaged until put bag to neutral... I see it very often were someone will hit it not knowing and have the pump sending pressure to it... this will decrease overall power and hyd strength like your stating. Left engaged for extended periods can lead to a very very big mess since it will heat the fluid up and start melting internals... in the HST and shuttle machines of the 2500 series

I keep having to remind my lady friend and weekend helper, not to turn the wheels of any machine or even her own car if it's not at least moving a bit. It's hard on everything.

That and holding the wheel at end of travel, while the relief screams.

I hate that noise also and its not going to turn any farther but some people cant get that through their head.

Mahindra likes to put big front tires on their mid-size tractors because it looks cool, combine that with generous front loader lift capacities and it generally takes just a little forward or back movement to get the tires to steer if you have a big load in the bucket or on the forks. Not such an issue with the ag tires. I would say this is normal for this model when loaded heavy. The hydraulics are set to bypass at a certain pressure, and sometimes that is reached.

just a suggestion...when the relief cuts in...lower the bucket and use down pressure to lift the front end enough to turn the wheel further...?

Id rather have the wide R4s when working those loads though.. especially on rock, sand or something your not wanting to tear up as bad.. at a dead stop then yeah the ags will turn better but they are cutting into whatever they are turning on at the same time.. once moving the r4 will help the tractor float better on the front.

The steering box might be undersized for the job but the wide tires are nice. They aren't nearly as prone to rutting. I don't even have a Mahindra tractor. I'm just basing my statement on my experience with ag tires vs r4s.

I know this is an old post, sorry for resurrecting it. I have a max 26 HST, I just put the loader back on after it was off for a few weeks. When moving the steering seems a little sloppy, but when stopped or going very slow I have the same issue with the tires not wanting to turn. Are use it to move trailers around any storage building, so I’m going slow and the wheels will just not turn unless I’m moving. This was a sudden issue that started yesterday, I had absolutely no issue before. I’m wondering if anyone from this thread ever figure anything out
