Comparison Powershift

/ Powershift #31
Thanks for the review as you made up my mind and I just bought a YM2020. Everyone was so helpful because of the open discussions. With so many models and with all the problems with the VN tractors I decided that this 2020 with a little over 500hrs was going to be the way to go for me.

I really love the dash shifter on the 2020. Really is handy when moving stuff with the FEL. One tough little ole tractor.

I will not get the tractor as it will ship around May15th so i will post pictures. I bought it from Halopka Equipment, LLC and they are really great people to deal with, honest and up front. I have talked to a number of dealers and no one was as straight forward as Halopka Equipment. Their prices are great and the service was what I wanted ...no BS. If anyone is looking for a Yanmar with original low hrs and an "A" rated tractor give them a call, they have a web site and update their inventory on a regular basis.

( hehe this thread has gone from powershift to cetane rating in diesel :D)

That is the same I was thinking when I was reading.

At first for those who want to know a little bit more of cetan number:
Cetan Number

the next is: does someone know if the shifting itself, can be adjusted(more smooth between the gears) ?

The power-shift is worth the money if you're considering a FEL.

The YM2010 is an excellent tractor and the largest two cylinder Yanmar ever produced in the YM series.

Mark777 could you elaborate on the value of power-shift if you have a FEL?
Thanks in advance.

Saves time and effort since its clutchless shifting in other words you can go from forward to reverse w/o clutching just move the shifter into neutral or push the clutch in as I usually do since I make a main box gear change at that point and go into reverse it depends on the circumstance however the up-shifting is clutchless which is nice if you are moving something a good distance and lots of trips.

Its best to time it right like when you come to a standstill getting a bucket full then move the powershifter to neutral then reverse backup turn and (optional: hit brakes) shift into 1 and go.

I usually end up shifting the main box into 1st or 2nd when I get to a pile and then after getting a load shifting the main box into 3rd but other than that clutching its all done by the powershift lever. hth

You don't want reverse direction without stopping with a powershift transmission. It is not a shuttleshift.

Here are some pictures of my "new" YM 2020 that I promised to post. I will have possession of it in a week as it is coming from WI to NC
