I have a Bosch electric sprayer. It seems to need mains pressure or good pump pressure from the bore. I used it once connected to an old bore pump that had plenty of flow volume but relatively poor pressure. The Bosch kept cutting out. It seems to need a certain input pressure to trigger an internal safety switch. I guess they are all a bit different. Some would no doubt be designed to draw water from an external holding tank with no problems. A possible clue would be the size of the hose input connector. If its just an ordinary 1/2" garden hose connector then it may have trouble if its only being gravity fed. And it would of course depend how high the feeder tank is.
