I'm looking for another gas powered pressure washer. At age 65, if I need a big job done like washing my house, etc. I generally pay a pro to do it, but 2-3 times a year I might want to do something myself. My last 2 in the $500 price range were both POSs. I'm willing to spend $800-1000 for a washer that will last. I always maintain them properly, never start them dry, cycle stabilized fuel and pump lube / winterizer through them before winter storage, but the last 2 were terrible and a struggle to start and run, and they didn't last. Suggestions? thanks

You couldn't GIVE me a gas powered washer. I have a quiet commercial electric unit for maybe twenty five years already with Triplex CAT pump, LEESON Motor, bought used for $200.00!. No gas issues either.

LOL I don't disagree, my last 2 were a POS. The 120v electric PWs I've used and seen generally state they should not be used with an extension cord. Mine needs to be more mobile in some cases. thanks

I have both gas and electric.
The gas is a 13HP Honda engine, with a 4000 psi triplex pump.
Nice unit, but I don't use it, and need to sell it this Winter.
My electric one is old, is HOT, and is only 1000 psi, but it is the best for me.
Hot + electric !!!!

@JohnKN - have a need for a generator? For those times when you need to be further away, run the PW off the generator.

I too have only occasional use for one, and really didn't want to have to deal with another gasoline engine. I started with a big-box electric, which was puny, failed after a year, and was unrepairable.

So I went looking for a real electric pressure washer and found this one:
Portable Industrial Electric Power Washer | Cam Spray

It is available with various cart configurations, and in 240-volt models. I find the 20-amp 120-volt model works fine for occasional use, and can be used anywhere on my place with 120-volt outlets. Obviously won't work in the middle of a field, but with an extension hose does have quite a bit of reach.

I like that it's American made, has parts available, and has very helpful tech support available by phone.

You can buy direct, but I found it on an online dealer, and may be available from local dealers if you don't live way out in the sticks like we do.

Well, as much as I hate noisy GAS engines, if you do need portabliity, I would have to conceed that the gas engine washer is best.

Most important thing is for it to have a cat type pump, not axial. Rigid makes a nice one, with Subaru engine
