Hi Mark,

We took the inexpensive way to operate the 3rd function to the loader currently. Essentially, we are running it off the 3rd remote on the rear of the tractor. So in our case, it's not integrated into the loader joystick, but have to move your hand back to the 3rd remote lever on the right side console. I run a front tree spade, chute deflection on a snowblower and a grapple off the front 3rd function. The tree spade likes a constant flow and the chute deflection on the blower will hopefully not require constant movement. I'll probably miss not having the operation in the joystick for the grapple, but if it becomes a major pain, then I'll go to a more sophisticated setup, but for now, it should work for me. The A/C will be great this summer up here also, but the heat was used too much over the weekend... low teens at night and low 30s during the day and windy. So, where did the warm weather go!?!?

Dog,

I have all my pieces for my third function valve, expect for the toggle switch, button, rocker, etc for the joystick. Still working on that. I hear rumor that W. R. Long makes one specifically for the class III boomers, but it is pretty pricey. I'll keep looking. I'm currently doing the same thing you are to run my grapple. I have two quarter-inch lines zip tied to my loader arms then running under the platform back to my second remote valve. It works fine, just a little cumbersome having to move my hand to close/open the grapple.

I have a 20 acres of land I bush hog every 3 to 4 weeks for a land developer. It would be soooooooo nice to have an air conditioned cab for that job.

Thanks for the reply. Enjoy your new toy...Emmmmm I mean tool. Yea tool ! I have to keep my wife convinced that that tractor drivin is "Hard work"

Mark,

If you're interested in using a diverter valve instead of a rear remote, check out the project Pineridge did. Very impressive. Adding grapple hydraulics to a TC-40D SS

I chose to use my rear remote, but instead of running the hoses continuously all the way from the rear remote to the fel I put in QDs at the fel mount. Makes for an easier dismount of the fel.

User preference on using a diverter button on the joystick vs. rear remote lever. I already had the rear remote so $ drove the decision.
