Thanks for the additional quotes Kendall69. After further discussions with our dealer yesterday he upped our trade-in price to $17K and knocked another $400 off the tractor. Since we were still getting the impression that our dealer had the new tractor at premium pricing, we decided to go forward with submitting our RFQ to seven other NH dealers in the area. We have 3 out of 7 RFQs back from the area dealers...and let's just say that either our exisiting dealer needs to bring down his price by another $2K+ or we'll be finding another dealer. We'll post the details as things develop, but continue to appreciate all of your input. PS - Two of the RFQs have the new tractor $500 to $1000 less than our original quote and have our trade-in price at $18,500. Were making progress....

Hi Guys, We visited another local dealer this afternoon and bettered our trade price by $2,300 compared to our original dealer. Here's the deal. TC45DA FWA/SS, Super Suite Cab with optional rear wiper and AM/FM/WB/CD radio, R4 tires, Rear wheel weights, 3 remotes installed, service manual - $30,518. 260TL loader with QA, 72" HD QA bucket and hoses/couplers for 3rd function to front of loader - $3,690. To boot they are offering $18,500 to trade in our TC40D. To sell our tractor outright I would need to sell it for a minimum of 18,500 X 1.055 (tax) = $19,517.50 to gain anything on the trade-in. This gives us a trade up difference of $15,708. The dealer we visited today was very personable, family owned and has been in business for 80+ years. Lots to think about and mull over the weekend. Jim...are we migrating into your approval territory? ;-) Thanks, Matt.

Matt, I think you've done a job that is a credit to good shopping.:) Just think how you would have felt if you'd made that first deal and then discovered that you could have had this deal. I'd say go for it, especially since that dealer has been in business for so long.

We signed the deal on the new tractor!!! :) :) :) However, our happiness is tempered by having to leave our exisiting dealer and go with a new one. It was a tough decision to go with a new dealer as we have had a very good relationship with our existing dealer since late 2002. They have always provided excellent customer service for a few warranty issues and provided very good pricing. The Pros about our new dealer is that they are about 100 miles closer to us, family owned and in business for 80+ years..very similar to our old dealership. After a nice conversation with our old saleperson and explaining why we were moving on, he was disappointed (as was I), but he could not deny that $2,300.00 difference was significant and he understood. We will stay in touch with him and hope to do business in the future for attachments or another tractor. Now the excitement begins... and the wait. We ended up signing the deal as specified above along with picking up the NH 72CSH snowblower and a NH 72" Tiller. After having a 14" and 20" snowfall within one week, I'm looking forward to the new blower and cabbed tractor. :D Looks like our build week is April 9th...so the wait begins! Wanted to extend my gratitude to you all for providing advice and making sure I tempered my excitement to get the best deal possible. PS - Pictures to follow when it arrives. Is it here yet...is it here yet? Thx, Matt.

Thanks CJ4. The wait is killing me! The bummer part is that when it arrives in mid April, we will be out of our major "snow" season here, so the new snowblower won't see any action until next Winter...which in Minnesota starts in August...OK, maybe October. :D In mid April the frost is still coming out of the ground, so my other attachments won't be getting a workout either. So what does a guy do? I'll just have to hook up and take off attachments in the garage and take pictures for TBN?? Then wax on / wax off /wax on /wax off...and wait for the frost to come out. OK, I'm going crazy waiting for this thing...I'm glad that somebody can share in my anxiety.

Look at it this way. You've really been waiting for this tractor since 2002 when you bought the non-cabbed model. Considering how long you've waited, you can do this "standin' on your head.";) :)

LMAO, ROF............Jim, I know you're tryin to help but I think just the sheer fact of mentioning the CAB to this poor guy just ruined his day!!! Yes, the CAB is going to be a BIG WONDERFUL LUXURY for Red Dog....and the CAB will really be nice with a heater in the winter and an a/c in the summer.....(something I don't have by the way, ha).....and the CAB will probably have a cool STEREO in it....and the CAB will be really quiet inside.....and the CAB looks so dang cool I just see it in Red Dog's yard right now!!! So Jim don't be so dang hard on Red Dog and be careful how much you mention that CAB and how it won't be here until April!!!!!!!!

OH my...this IS entertaining!!! LOL! Jim, you mean I have been waiting 5 years for this cabbed tractor??? Sheesh, no wonder my hair is falling out, I'm getting grayer and my belt line is...ummm...yah...expanding. All this stress from waiting...what am I going to do? Sigh. 5 years...5 years...5 years. I think I'll go bury my head in the sand now. ;) Or maybe I should live vicariously through CJ4s eyes... can you explain that again about seeing the tractor in my front yard...oh yah, that's good stuff. :D
