Price for Kubota L4630

Looking at a used 2005 L4630 with HST and 600 hours. Very good overall condition. Has TNT, R4 tires, and front weights but no loader. Asking $14,500. Seems reasonable but I will buy if only a very good deal. If get it for $12,500 I might bite.

This tractor is suppose to have the LA853 loader but new models use the LA854 loader. Will the LA854 work on the older model?

A year or so ago a coupld of dealers in the north east were looking to get rid of some 853 loaders that were left overs.

I can't think of anyone telling me that they would switch either way but the forty series do have a different transmission compared to the thirty series but with a little fabrication anything is possible.

I am ok with the more basic HST of the 30 series. I have a JD 4520 HST which has similar features as the HST of the Kubota 40 series. I don't use those features and prefer to operate the HST by myself.

I know the 40 series went to a different hydraulic hook up for the FEL and the joystick is now on the tractor instead of the FEL as on the 30 series. Is that the major difference between the the 853 and 854 loaders?

The joystick on my L5030 is in the cab, so I am sure modifications could be made for an open station tractor.

I accept that the HST Plus on the L40 Series is nice, I just don't feel the need for one and don't know if I would use them, so I bought a used 30 Series and saved $$$$$$$$$$.

the hydralics are different as the joy stick is mounted on the fender from the factory instead of being optional there.

I would think that there might have been some other changes as well in the chassis!

For the transmission, the changes are nice and I'm very comfortable using the old style. The plus is I can sell the new style to anyone and have them looking like they have run a tractor all their life. Well most all!
