Price for used rotary cutter (bush hog)

Ok, trying to figure out the photo thing so let me know if this works...

I verified it is actually a 6' so I should be ok as far as my tractor handling it...

made the guy an offer of $600.00, let me know if ya'll think that would be a good price and if he doesn't take it, how high should I go...

I do have a loader so hopefully that can act as a counter balance to the 1200 lb weight....

the rear wheel looks to be either bent or in need of bearings. If the gearbox is tight and smooth then I would say it is worth $600. I am not familiar with that brand so I don't know how parts availability is- that is one reason I like woods, I can still get just about any part for my attachments.

I paid $165 for my older woods 72-3 at an auction. It was pretty beat up and ugly though. The gearbox was tight, I had to replace seals- the gearbox was full of grease instead of oil so when I put oil it all leaked out overnight. Apparently the previous owner knew that and hence the grease. I straightened out the side rails a little and have been using it. I don't use it a whole lot so I didn't see spending much on it.

What we can see looks pretty good. A new tail wheel or spindle might be needed. A new on probably won't break the bank. A universal(king Kutter,Countryline,Tarter) spindle is only about $30. I suspect it has a more HD version on it. I would feel pretty good going $600 maybe a bit more.

They are pretty known around here and havent heard one bad thing about them,galv.deck should last you along time. Gearbox would be only thing I would be worried about,can he put on tractor and let you see it run?

I had my old shredder out by road and guy came up said man it looks rough $1400 sounds high does it work, so I got my tractor out and made a pass down and he was counting the cash on the way back.

DEFINITELY worth $600!!! If you can get it for that, buy it!!! If the seller wants a little more, then I still think it would be a good buy, but it just depends on how much more he would need to let it go. Good luck!

A buddy of mine just purchased a new Howse 6ft shredder with his tractor and it looked alot heavier duty than there older models,new was somewhere around 1,200/1,300

The shredder I sold was this brand and its still going strong today. If your wondering why I sold it,is because it was a 10ft and I bought a new 8ft so it doesnt hang off the side of my trailer on these tight county roads..
