The northwest seems to be getting the worst prices this year. In Oregon we are just a little higher than Washington because we have slightly higer taxes and no self service.

gas $2.15-2.39 regular unleaded

diesel $2.69-2.79

It cost me over $70 to fill my diesel truck last week. I would love to get rid of it but I haven't seen any honda's or Toyotas that will pull my 20' gooseneck trailer I use for hauling feed, hay, lumber, equipment, and everything else my farm uses.

Here in Ky the price of regular unleaded (87 octane) is $2.05 9/10's

Here in Southern Maine I paid $1.959 yesterday for unleaded, at a Getty, the cheapest I know of. Many are running $1.99 to 2.07 a gallon. I believe diesel was about $2.32 the last I remember but I haven't bought any in a month or two. Fuel oil here is supposed to be at an all time high around $2.05. It has been a real expensive year for heating, some $300 a month heating bills.

Darn Ralph. I guess I'm partly responsible . I drive a ford psd .
But I don't drive it out of hate for my neighbor . I drive it because it hauls all my tools and work related stuff at a better mileage than my F150 could . empty the 150 never saw 15 mpg , even on the highway . It was more like 10-12 . The PSD gets on average 17-18 . If I could find a vehicle that got mileage in the plus 20 region , I'd buy it . Provided it was 4wd and could haul what I need . John

In Central Ark, diesel is 2.04 to 2.15 and that is after the nickel a gal. added tax for high way improvemnet, and the state adds a added assesment for a Diesel engine, and now are talking about if you use a credit or debit card and extra charge over this. Its only money and the Gov. smells where it at then taxes for having it.
We should of learned in the early 70's this would happen again and started to use Bio Diesel but was unable to get reliable supply maybe some one will get the vision of being free of oil dependance.

I think a lot of the increase has to do with the war in Iraq myself.

Also, what's this talk about being TAXED BY THE MILES that you drive. You know, big brother watching you VIA GPS. I think California is going to be the first state to start something like this if I remember correctly. Anyone else hear about this? Gerard
