I hear the resale value argument a lot but one has to look at the resale value as a percentage of new. You can expect a 35,000 tractor to be worth more on trade in than a 25,000 tractor. Dealer support is a mute point for me. Closest dealer is 225 miles away ONE WAY. Closest LS dealer is about 130. No matter who i go with i will be fixing it myself with parts VIA UPS. Still don't know which way i'll go. I really need a bigger budget so i can step up in size and upgrade all attachments.....

TSO, What i'm seeing is there is not a standard Draft control on a Massey. Is this the case with yours? I would think draft would help a lot when moving dirt around houses with my box blade and running the tiller......

Very true. I do not have that option on my Massey and it only came with one rear remote set. My LS had draft control, and two sets of remotes. I can't say that the draft control is a deal breaker, but like any feature, it's nice to have. I would rather my Massey had it now than not, but I'm not going to pay the amount that they want for it.

What are they charging for a 2nd remote and draft control?

I think draft control has to be installed at the factory so I'm not sure on price ... I believe the 2nd remote kit was around $1200

That was almost exactly what I said lol

Gotta be able to go aftermarket cheaper. I was hoping for tilt and top for my box blade as i do quite a bit of driveway work.....

These diverter valves are an option. One is electric, the other is manual:

I picked up this electric one to use on my rear remote, which will split it into two, powered by a button-actuator. That way you'll effectively have "2" remotes using the same lever. I may pick up another for the front as well (for the grapple). But, I would have much preferred a 2nd factory remote, for even more versatility. Even though I had 2 on the LS, I only used 1 (ran lines for the grapple) ... but now that I have a stump-grinder, I will NEED 2 off the back, so now I'm wishing I had that 2nd factory one for the grinder, and I could use the electric diverter for the front (on the loader joystick).

But I'm not likely going to spend the $1200 this year. Maybe next year if things go well ???

Not to derail the thread too much, but since you're a dealer and have access to values, can you tell me what my 1648 HST cab is worth, with 40 hrs? and, what do they typically sell for new?

That is the hardest equipment to value is late model machines. You have to look at what the current selling price of a New Machine Costs and what you would pay to purchase a used machine versus a new machine with Zero hours. Best thing is you still have some warranty. Which makes it more valuable. Would a $1,000 Trip you to buy a used 1648 over a new 1749? Would $2,000 do it? Would $3,000 do it? Also with Pre-Owned there is no financing specials like new. That makes some differences too. I'm thinking mid to low 30's...$33 to $34,000 Selling Range...31 to 32,000 trade value for Tractor and Loader. Also depends on equipment that would go with it. I'm looking at base equipment. There are lots of variables to take into consideration when evaluating trade in.
