Thanks for the responses gentlemen. Ok... the guy wants $4500 obo. I know it's not worth that, I wouldn't pay that, the seller knows it's not worth it, and I think he knows he's not going to get that for it. When I went to look at the tractor yesterday, I asked him, "How much are you willing to work on that price?" He replied "Uhhhh." I said "I've been looking at these things on the internet all day and they are going for around $2-3K. I gave him my name and number, told him I wanted to buy it if he would get the price right. He said he would wait to see what kind of response he gets (placed the ad 4 days ago) and call me if he is ready to deal or if he gets an offer he is happy with. So I guess I'll have to play the waiting game now. I think I'd be willing to give $3000 but I'm not gonna offer him that much. I'll give it until this weekend or so and call him back with an offer. I'm sure somewhere out there someone would be willing to pay that but where I live there isn't a real big market for tractors. I suspect (and hope!) he doesn't get any offers over $3000.
