priced out 1025r with 9 dealer ships. Need advice.

You are right. The zero interest and the fact that they have he best warranty out there convinced me. I looked for a used 1025R but some of the used ones were more expensive that what I ended up paying. I found a dealer who really sharpened his pencil.

How would buying a tractor far away effect my warranty? Isn't a John Deere dealership backed by John Deere if somthin goes wrong with any machine in warranty? Well if not then what things could I need the dealership that I bought it from other then what's covered under warranty?

Sorry to respond to an old thread. Yes any dealer has to take care of warranty issues, what they do not have to take care of is any product improvement programs. Those go to the selling/responsible dealer. If they are not safety related they may just let it expire and pay the consequences vs travelling too far to do the repair. They can ask another dealer to do it but the other dealer is free to decline. It's a tool that many oems use to help limit inner dealer group battles over aor.

If you want the best on the market, stay with the John Deere. The resale value is a lot more than any other tractor. I also want to point out that the rear end housing on the OTHER tractors has a ring and pinion gear like a car, the John Deere has a bull gear that will last a lot longer than any of the other tractors. After all, isn't that the true value of a tractor, not just the price, but the longevity?

I have driven and done a lot of research and found that money isn't always the way to purchase something that you expect to last. Remember, you do get what you pay for.

The ring and pinion is noisy, weak and prone to failure when pressed hard in a tractor. If you want a quality machine, the John Deere has the longest factory warranty and that to me means that they believe in their product and will stand behind any failure.
Go green.... it is worth the extra few dollars for a machine that will take the abuse.

A bull gear setup further reduces the differential through spur gears. The spur gears may be located within the differential as the animation depicts below or out on the axle housing.

There is really nothing different between a ring and pinion and bull gear in a tractor. They both serve the same purpose.
