Pricing pallet forks

Get you pair of these:

You Know, I did look at those and may even order a set.

My 36 inchers are the real deal Factory 1970's New Holland and I Got 3 of them I stole them off of my NH L778 Skid steer before I sold it with just the bucket.

I did stress test them and actually lifted a 2 stacked pallet of pellet stove pellets ~ 88 40lb bags + the pallets so over 3500lb it was a bit of pucker factor driving down a steep driveway forward and then driving up on my tilt bed trailer with the load.
I also have round chain on forks that I believe are 39 inches.
I bought them as my first implement from a small US welding outfit that advertised on ebay.

My 02 cents. Pallet forks are different as far as how much stress is put on a 90 degree angle on a non reinforced piece of metal the fork. Bad place to have a catastrophic failure at the worst possible time. I am not talking brands since I do have one Titan implement a backhoe grapple
Im just basing my thoughts on the the fact that the amount of tragic pallet fork accidents I have heard of in my 52 years of life is exactly zero.

If you want to make a short trip to Indiana, you can pick up these at the factory. I bought them a few years ago and have had no problems. Made by Amish.
That's 2 votes now for Tomahawk, yeh man they may be it for me, thanks!

Something like that I'd make myself. Especially after having bought a set and know how limited they are for real life usage. Could work well for large but light stuff, I suppose.

Yet heavy enough that my bad back and knees don't care for them. Especially when it's so easy to drive up to the 60-inch pallet forks instead, and not even have to get off or out of the tractor, just hook them on the loader and drive off.

Yes, when using pallet forks I often don't bother with flipping the levers down.

I’m a big believer in HLA attachments. There are several farmer specific stores near me that sell them. They seem to be farm grade, overbuilt, but at a fair price. I put mine to the test with my HLA single arm log grapple and they have been doing fine.

Come to think of it I have never heard of or seen a failure of pallet forks yet. I have seen damaged distorted frames but no fork that straightened out or cracked. I will say those New Holland forks are extremely heavy to pick up and move right at my limit strength wise.

I’ve never heard of failures but I’ve seen several that are bent. Probably user abuse trying to dig with them.

I agree that for forks, you can find good ones for less. I got mine from Ironcraft, through my dealer when I bought the tractor. 48" 4k capacity for $400...but it was part of a package, so pricing is not really apples to apples.

If I remember right, the 42" forks and frame from Titan ran me a bit over $400; not these days. 🤣💔

See I might do something like that, that's why I'm thinking the higher weight rating for the forks.
