Reverse angle of the block they picked the load from. Nice and wide.

Oakland is home and first I heard is here on TBN...

That garage is where I park for city council meetings.

Just a perspective.... I remember those units. They are BAC (Baltimore Air Coil) cooling towers. Made of stainless steel (from the photo)... High dollar for a cooling tower. Basically a fan and a evaporative cooler in a box. Relatively cheap. No high pressure gas or compressor involved.

I've figured it this way. Back in the "good 'ol days" - the news section of a TV station did not have to support themselves based upon viewer numbers. Then the management of TV got a great idea. "Lets have every section support themselves based upon viewer numbers". This is about the time that the news went wild. Objectivity, accuracy and truth went right out the window. The news section now had to generate viewer numbers. Anything & everything that caught public attention became fair game.

Objectivity, truth & accuracy cost $$$ and does not necessarily generate viewer support. Sex sells - in so many ways. Conflict and unrest sells .............

Its all a reflection of the overall Godlessness that has overrun our country. Truth has little meaning anymore. Lies are accepted today.
Started years ago, but really came into prominence in the late 90’s.

Local TV station news gets very few advertising dollars from the advertising that is shown during their local news cast. Most of their money comes from advertising dollars generated from the daily programming, prime-time programming, syndication deals (wheel of fortune, jeopardy, ET), etc...

IF IT BLEEDS IT LEADS
Most women newscasters inappropriately dressed, way too much tight clothing, cleveage and makeup to attract male viewership.
The nonstop wars we saw in the 90’s and early 2000’s were gold mines for the “ news “.
So glad the last 5 years have been so peaceful.

It started after 1987, when the Fairness Doctrine ended. The Federal Communications Commission policy that required public media channels to base their stories on fact and to present both sides of a question. This started sensationalism news, 24 hour breaking news and opinionated news. It has bled into all forms of our news and has tainted the facts in all forms. From this we get advertising the news in commercials using sensationalized news of previous days, weeks and months to sell the news casts and channels. Walter Cronkite never had to sell his news cast or worry about ratings, everybody just waited and watched and listened.

When I started to work for the state, in the early 80's, there were several of my projects that got the attention of the press. I did a few interviews; and even then, you were lucky if what you saw on TV bore any relationship to your original interview. The agency eventually hired an ex radio personality as our PR guy, and he handled all of the press inquiries from then on, and it worked out well for us.
