I have an HP K60 which I like very much. Does everything it's supposed to. The print quality of photos leaves something to be desired, but I think that's inherent in the resolution of the machine I bought. One suggestion: Buy one with a flatbed scanner/copier function. Feeding copies through can be a PITA and small receipts, etc. may have to be taped to a full-sized piece of paper.
Anyway, as others have said, it's hard to go wrong with HP stuff. My previous inkjet was an HP, bought in 94 and was working just fine when I unplugged it. In fact, every HP I've ever used, either at home or work, has simply become obsolete, never broken.
The one non-HP machine (fax/printer/copier) we bought at work was a Brother. Cost about $600 on contract and lasted less than 1 year. We bought a $250 HP that now serves as our fax machine and a printer for one computer. No problems in a year and a half.
I should add that I do own a tiny bit of HP stock. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif However, as the guy on tv used to say, I bought the company because I liked the product. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
