To me it is not excessive, but it is visible. I was just following up on the comment of farmall40 and how his other tractor burned cleaner.

Guys the dealership I deal with in PA nine hours from me, took great care of me got me out of the nh and into a l5740 kubota and I love it all the power in the world and the HST plus is awesome. I dont have to worry about it dogging out in second gear and I can leave throttle at zero and it will compensate for speed and give proper amount of rpms. World of difference, the cruise control isnt dangerous and jumpy like in the nh and when you go into reverse from forward it doesnt take off faster the same speed both directions. Messicks in PA rocks and my hat off to Andrew Boher. Couldnt be happier.

I have been given a good quote on the 3045 with cab but have not made the jump yet have you guys got the CVT settings sorted yet? This thread has me wondering.

Still waiting for NH to release an update, assuming they are working on it, assuming they even care.

Just spoke to the dealer\sales guy and he states there is a learning curve. The HST is just push the pedal were the CTV you have to do some thinking as to what your doing and how you want to do it. Making sure that you are in the right range for the right job and such. There is also a reactivity setting that needs to be set I imagine this is for how touchy you want the the vehicle to react? I will go give it a whirl on Saturday with my cousin, big guy willing.

I was on a 3525 JD and though it was smaller could do what I wanted for about the same price with the simpler forward reverse deal;) The search continues. :confused2:

The HST by far is the easiest to operate. On the CVT you can barely tell a difference between High and Low reactivity. It is nice because it is so customizable, but I think it needs a lot of work. I have a service request in with NH to find out more about the CVT issues.

I got the 3040 CVT, and was worried at first wih the way it felt compared to a hydro. After plowing snow for a few days, I really like the CVT now. Definitely takes a little getting used to w the pedal and ranges, but for the most part, 2nd is good to go for almost any need. All you really have to domis have the dealer disconnect the throttle cable, use the hand thrpttle at a set RPM and then get used to a much touchier foot pedal. Once you get used to the pedal, you won't want the hydro again. Hydro is nice, but the CVT puts much more power to the ground IMO.

hope this helps. I do have to have a ground circuit checkd on my by the dealer, but so far I love the 3040. Probably because it is my first cabbed tractor. Real nice this time of year.
