As far as I know, any quality JD dealer can issue you a 30 day warranty extension prior to the last expiration date of your initial warranty. My dealer did it for me without me asking him to.
Your dealer may not, unless you ask him/her to do this. If they give in and provide you this extension that will help your case if it your problem isn't made right. If they refuse or blow you off make sure u document who you asked. Carry a digital recorder if need be.
