Ok 3 part post...
I have the 60 inch midmountmower on my bx22 I put it back on today and first off broke the stupid level changing knob trying to turn it. Someone should make those out of steel.

Then I tried to lower the little mounting arms and they would not come down. I had to push them down while my wife pushed the lever. I didnt have to push hard but had to push with probably 5 lbs of pressure. Any ideas what caused this? Once I got the mower on it raised and lowered like normal.

Final issue is the mower is now sitting 1 inch higher on the left side than the right. I raised it all the way up then put it down several times and I wiggled it around quite a bit but still the same result 1 inch higher. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?? Or why it is happening??

Thanks
Niles

I know this is not the problem, but I am going to mention it anyhow "just in case"..... Are the Anti-Scalp wheels all set at the same height?

Yeah they are all set at the same height and they were not touching when the measurements were taken... Thanks for the mention of that though that would have been a really easy fix /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Part 1 - Did you raise the deck to take the weight off of the "level" knob before trying to turn it? It should turn very easily with no weight on it.

Part 2 - Perhaps the hydraulic lowering speed knob was almost closed, thereby not allowing the arms to come down. If the knob is open and there is no weight on the arms or 3 point, they will come down kind of slow.

Part 3 - All I can recommend here is to get the mower manual out and go thru the steps for leveling the deck. Maybe try unhooking the deck and re-attaching it - maybe something isn't quite lined-up correctly. Was is level before you took the mower off the tractor?

rlw,
if i were a betting man, i'd bet you hit the nail on the head with Part 1 and Part 2, Part 3 is a really good suggestion. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Part 3 - level deck... I just had the same symptom with my deck. Turned out that one of my rear tires had a slow leak (nail) that was causing the tractor to tilt to the left. It was not very noticeable to the naked eye but if you measured the floor to frame on each side you could see the difference. The tire had 13 lbs pressure (should be 22) but it did not look flat. When I inflated the tire to 22 lbs the frame and mower became level. I put a tube in the tire and all is OK now.

I would remove the mower again and reinstall the hardware. It sounds as if the rear pin did not seat properly...hence the difference in mower height. Also, I would check the tph hold knob and make sure that it is loose and not trying to hold up the tph and the mower. Also, check and make sure the front hardware that mounts to the frame is properly positioned. If it is in the wrong hole or torqued out of position it may not hold the mower level.
Make sure that your drive shaft is fully secure and also make sure that when you try to adjust the height that the mower is in the full up position....
If all that fails, get the dealer out pronto! Good luck
