Ok....well hopefully got to the bottom of the problem. The fuel gauge does work and I did change both filters. Pulled the fuel line off the tank end of the pump today and nothing was coming out (I know the pump pulls it through but not even a drip) got an airline to blow back up and diesel started flowing. Loads of dirt etc came out, flushed through with fresh diesel until all the dirt stopped. Hopefully can get it all cleaned out like this without having to remove the tank!!!!!
Matt - I had exactly the same problem - crud in the bottom of the fuel tank - it was so bad that it plugged the line and also eventually the fuel pump stopped pumping - I emptied all the diesel, then blew out the line with air and flow started again. We then wiped the bottom of the tank out with towels - ( the guy that did it had small hands and could reach in there - what he found in the screen was some white goo that I am told is a fungus that can develop in diesel tanks) After changing fuel pump and firing up, she ran and mowed solidly for an hour.
For follow up - Kubota mechanic is recommending some anti-fungal additive - Hopefully I'll have some today - Still don't know if I'll have to pull the tank - time will tell
Let me know how yours is running? - thanks
