Problems with the Gyro Trac GT25xp

Ponds and inclines are the ideal use of such a unit. A will cover the smallest of our units first,
The DAH-080C is our smallest unit. It cuts 32" width and requires about 20 gpm @ 3000psi and up. It requires a honest 18K machine to handle the weight and supply enough flow. These would include Kubota-KX080, Yanmar SV-100, Cat 308 or a size bigger, Taki TB-175, Most of these are 18 lbs. and with the head gross @ about 20K.
Now we have 6 different models that can cover any excavator including powerpacked models. Most around here move them with F-450/550 with big dual tandem goose necks. You can pull with whatever you want, that is personal preference.
Excavators make good mulching platforms for the abuse to the machines is minimal and no debri is thrown at the excavator.
You can watch all of our units run on youtube under Denis Cimaf. See what you think.

Robbie (or anybody),

I'm sticking back money to buy a mulcher one day. I'd pretty much settled on a compact track loader with a mulcher head. But the excavator idea is interesting. Anyway my question is; What is the smallest excavator that would make a suitable mulcher platform?
A skidsteer can be hauled on a trailer behind a pickup, but can the smaller
excavators handle a mulching head? And since I know squat about excavators, could I get actual model numbers? ie. CAT 311 etc.
I passed a pond the other day where someone had done a mulching job. The trees near the water were just pushed over into the pond, seems like an excavator would have been perfect for that job.
Thanks for any information.

The trees just fell in the pond after they cut the bottom. Sounds like they were in a hurry or did'nt care. I sure hope it's not the neighbors pond, they might be in the pond in this cool weather.

Hello,
i have some expirience with the gyrotrac equipment especially here in east texas. many people here are running the GT25 and GT25XP. These machines are very productive and there light wieght has allowed them to run in the wet muddy conditions where others wont. especially this year with the rainfall. other equipment have been shutdown for weeks where the gyro continues to work. issues with the 25XP: yes they require maintenance daily such as teeth sharpening, cleaning, and greasing. normal stuff for the equipment. there are several companies out here that are having much success with the excavators with the cimaf heads out in the wet conditions as well, both are very productive
