Problems with Trespassers

I have always been told and personally believe, Never pull a gun unless your going to use it (ie shoot to kill).

But... I think if you know some/most of their names you could simply get a restraining order Tomorrow, it isn't a long process. Then that turns an arguement about trespass into a clear cut case of violating a court order.

They will have a right to a hearing to prove their case that the restraining order was unfounded and unnessecary, don't exaggerate the facts. Basically they get to prove they are Not guilty to get it lifted, and its good for a period (90 days?) of time.

Don't try to create more drama, you technically could probably keep them from entering Their own property with the distances of the order, but that wouldn't be smart, and would probably make matters far worse long term.

In the end they aren't going to go to jail for years, months, or likely weeks, and although you don't have to ever speak to them again, chances are they're going to live there on the other 3/4 of the estate for the foreseeable future and you don't really want to worry for the rest of your life about checking the cows with out being ambushed.

I have put up game cameras. Put those up on Monday afternoon.

As others have written game cameras are likely to be stolen. What you need for cameras are something that records to the internet and forwards the imagery real time. Perhap a battery operated wireless webcam. Unless they jam the signal they will be recorded and they can't easily destroy the evidence.

Now I just have to disagree with you...no one on here has suggested he murder anyone but rather all have been very careful to advise him to warn them, notify the authorities of his fears etc....You have to be kidding ...if those thugs would have bumped my wife with a ATV the coroner would already have a client...that is not going to happen...Motor Seven gave really great advice....Based on what you suggest he might as well desert his property and just let them have it...the bad guys win...he loses....I would hate to live like that...I would trust a jury to see the truth but I would never let anyone abuse my wife or family..not ever.:2cents: In my opinion...there are some things worth dying for.

Not sure I would give a warning shot. Just seen on the news the other day where a man was arrested for giving a warning shot to a person trying to break in his house.

Perhaps a miss, but I don't give warning shots. If I am going to pull the trigger, it is going to be to stop the threat.

Ya no guns .. Best with fist and axe handles . Fist is best . And ya I know now one ever wants to fight . But in life sometimes ya have to . to keep people from running u over . I was taught not to fight but when you do at times you have to do it .

If you do as this post sugests your widow will be selling the property back to them after they have justifiably shot you in self defense.

You must be better than me. If 6 to 8 guys are surrounding me, my wife and child are there, I don't think I will win in a fight with fists. I am 61 and can't remember being in a fist fight after grade school, I always was able to find a better way. No way I would approach this situation thinking I could deal with it at this point with fists. I get your point...but no one is going to threaten my wife and child by bumping her with an ATV and shouting death threats.

My dad wasn't a fighter either and he was in late fifties and he's the one that I want say started since it was the group of people that cornered us . But he was the one that swung first . And we ended it right then and there . It was 7 of them and just me and my dad . And neither of us were are fighters . But he has passed away on me 5 years ago and if we wouldn't have done what we done . They would still be pushing me around .

This people you have the problem with sounds like young kids that are bully's from the start . And the only way to get a message through is push back . I mean is it right no . But I feel tell u do you will always have problems . There not going to pull a gun an use it they really want even want to fight . Trust me been there done that with people like this .

But good luck on what ever u do .


It's just hard to give advice like this . I mean you went the right way to handle it but the cops don't care about it as it sounds .

So the wrong way sometimes has to happen .

I took from all of this they were grown men, being that they we pulled over driving a truck.... in my mind a 16 year old is no "kid" , and can be as likely to do something stupid/violent than a "grown man" and I think they say roughly 1 in 3 men carry a gun either on them or in there vehicle, so if there's six of them, don't really want to escalate it.

Note... in Florida armed trespass is a 3rd degree felony

You done that been there have ya ? You gonna guarantee him , the OP , that he will win the fist fight against all of them ? Can you guarantee him they won't be back every day to get even ? ever heard of vendettas...? Sometimes things have to be settled for good.

Good observations.

The OP is the only person on TBN who can evaluate the perps, and the best way to deal with them. All we can hope to do is give him some tools to work with.

The fact that all three men accused of beating and paralyzing Oklahoma City police officer Chad Peery are in prison now doesn't help Chad play ball with his children.
