Warning shots are a bad idea. Shoot one in the air with a 12-gauge pump and get three 9-mm or a 30-06 in the chest before you can cycle it. The best idea is to leave *******s out of sight until you are IN FEAR OF YOUR LIFE OR YOUR WIFE OR DAUGHTER'S LIFE. Never shoot to kill, shoot to remove the threat! Don't brandish a ******* as a threat, next time they may leave somebody with a scoped deer ***** in the trees to take you out when they just 'walk up to talk'. Be aware of everything going on around you.

I am on the Lyon county side. There was a title search done & everything checked out good. As I said this was 1/4 of an estate and the people that are giving me grief are the same ones that ordered the division/survey of the land. They picked the surveyor, had the land surveyed, they took their choice of the pieces & left the other person with the part that joins me. Now they claim the survey is no good & that they own the 19.5 acres that I bought. They know they are wrong they want to see how far they can go. If I let them have the run of the place it will never end.

What I'm saying is shoot to kill also. I'm not fixing to shoot one in the leg so I can later be sued by them or fire a warning shot so I can be arrested for that either. If I feel threatened or my family is threatened I'm going to make sure to aim center mass and shoot until the threat is gone.

Wow! What a rotten and scary situation. The only slight glimmer of hopeful news that I see in this whole thread is that they now clearly DO understand that YOU now own the property since they have called and cussed out the seller. At least one small victory. I pray that you have continued victories over these thugs.

Sounds like you walked into a situation that has been going on for awhile. The previous owner (not family?) prolly also had tons of problems and sold. These guys prolly think that if they can cause enough grief, the land will eventually sell for cheap and they will snap it up..

Stories like this are painful to read and I feel very badly for you. Most of the good advice has been given, so has much of the rest.

By some accounts, all the miscreants would be dead by now, and your problems would be over... I don't think so. A remote lot is not a "castle", although the Kentucky statute is more open than many... maybe you could just post copies of it along the DMZ :laughing::

503.080 Protection of property.
(1) The use of physical force by a defendant upon another person is justifiable when the
defendant believes that such force is immediately necessary to prevent:
(a) The commission of criminal trespass, robbery, burglary, or other felony
involving the use of force, or under those circumstances permitted pursuant to
KRS 503.055, in a dwelling, building or upon real property in his possession
or in the possession of another person for whose protection he acts; or
(b) Theft, criminal mischief, or any trespassory taking of tangible, movable
property in his possession or in the possession of another person for whose
protection he acts.
(2) The use of deadly physical force by a defendant upon another person is justifiable
under subsection (1) only when the defendant believes that the person against whom
such force is used is:
(a) Attempting to dispossess him of his dwelling otherwise than under a claim of
right to its possession; or
(b) Committing or attempting to commit a burglary, robbery, or other felony
involving the use of force, or under those circumstances permitted pursuant to
KRS 503.055, of such dwelling; or
(c) Committing or attempting to commit arson of a dwelling or other building in
his possession.
(3) A person does not have a duty to retreat if the person is in a place where he or she
has a right to be.

In the OP you stated the advice the attorneys gave you, and they are probably better acquainted with your laws than anyone here. You might ask them about the escalation that seems to be taking place.

You need a trap, skeet, *****, or pistol range. When they come to party on their property, you and friends have a shooting party while ignoring them, no threats or notice of them at all.

I would not consider adjoining property to my home a remote lot. We have acreage and all of it is my property and I will defend myself anywhere on it (and have).

They already crossed that line. Are you an attorney or are you speculating ? They have faced immedite harm.
