I have owned one for about 6 years. Mine has a 16hp Briggs. It works great but u need to learn how to use it. These things are dangerous and can hurt you if you get careless. I wear a wood cutters hard hat with flip-down screen face shield. It has saved my head many times. If you can buy it for $1500 or less its a good deal assuming it works ok. It should eat a 4" 2x4 in 15 sec. or so. Reach in the intake shoot (not running) and feel the edge of the knifes. If it is rolled over you will need to remove them and have them (2) sharpened by a tool grinder. Knife to anvil clearance is to be set at .025 (matchbook) thickness. Check the flywheel bearings for looseness with a crow bar, pry the shaft up and down, the flywheel weighs about 100 lbs. so the crow bar is a big help. The clutch arm must tighten against the drive belts when you engage it with the engine off. Move the lever around to see how loose all the hardwear has become. These chippers do a lot of work but you will have be ready to do the maintenance.
