Hmmm, do you think the fuel oil delivery guy gives a rat's butt whether or not you have an appliance to burn the oil he is delivering? .
That's not the Point I was trying to get across.
The suppliers here require a min 100 gallon purchase to deliver.
I don't use enough in my BX to warrant that large of a purchase.
My thinking was if I added heating the stall to what I burn in the tractor that may increase my usage enough to where it would be feasible to make the 100 gallon purchases.
Now do you understand where I'm coming from?

Sure, you would have the convenience of having off-road diesel fuel available for your tractor in large quantities, but you'd be paying more money heating your building with oil instead of natural gas.

Since you said yourself you would never use that much fuel in the tractor, it would be most cost effective to keep buying off-road diesel five or ten gallons at a time from the local guy, and heat the building with natural gas.

rcaretti, let me know what price you pay, and who you get it from. I was (am) dealing with Amerigas in Frederick. I' curious. I cannot find a descent deal on tanks?

Thanks,
Bill

I just filled up today (Aero). The tank gauge said 8 or 9% left and it took 389 gallons to fill it. I assume they leave some free space in the tank.

I paid $2.29 a gallon, which is the maximum I can pay with the price cap I signed up for in the fall.

I did have a hard time getting them to come up the 600+ foot gravel driveway. Even with 200 lbs of salt and some gravel I threw on the icy spots, they didn't like the looks of it. But they finally drove up it today.

Do you know any home builders? They may have an idea of who to call about a tank. Mine was originally installed by Aero Energy.

rcaretti, thanks for the update. It appears my pricing is not that far off. I am in Montgomery Co. so there is an additional county tax they impose, I believe it is around $.09 a gallon.

I have seen some tanks for sale, but the cost is just outrageous, and I am not sure if the cost difference will ever offset, although i have not done any calculations. I think when you deal with a variable such as the cost of any type of fuel it is difficult.

I'll keep looking!
Thanks,
Bill
