To all who own game cams . I 've been experiencing repeated vandalism on property and vacant house I own adjacent to my resident property . I 'm considering game cams to get pix, but am wondering what ya 'll do to protect cams from theft .

Being a member here for some time, I know I will get advise from some here on how to deal with the vandalism, but am mostly interested in the cam protection aspect .

Get two. Make one plainly visible and conceal the other pointing at the obvious one. Then put a fake rubber duck antenna on the obvious camera and a note that reads "BUSTED! If you can read this your picture is already on the internet VIA high speed cellular connection".

Good advice but I use three. All non flash black infra red. One taking pics of the other........Hope I never need to use the pics.

Depend on picture taking range..day/night..I would get no flash well known name band so unit can be hidden in brush, hung high pointed down,or even place in wood pile.

Agree least two units if not three.

After a lot of reading and research...I purchased two Bushnell M80(2011 models),so far work fine. They are infared,no flash, lots of memory and great battery life(up to a year).Check Amazon.com ,best price I found.
The ones that send back to your phone/computer would be nice but lots of bucks($) and require a cell phone service.
For security;hang high and hide.

Put it in a birdhouse. I even have my video surveillence cameras in the bluebird houses. From 30' the perps can't tell. Only problem will be from a few homeless sparrows.

I have several game cameras. For one of them it was being placed in a high risk area to monitor my drive way at my house. My truck tool box was broken into several times.... I used a metal ammo box and carefully modified it fit and installed the game camera. I was able to bolt the box from the inside (so not exposed fasteners) with lag bolts and washers to a tree. I had camoed the box with flat green paint and dirt and leaves on the wet paint, glueing them on the box. Once installed on a tree with lots of vine coverage you couldn't tell it was there unless you saw the camera lens and the flash area.

After my Moultrie I40 was stolen, I replaced it with a Bushnell Trophy Cam and steel security box.

The camera is a snug fit inside the steel box with removable interlocking cover. The box is painted with camouflage pattern. A padlock placed through the cover prevents the cover from being removed from the box, securing the camera inside.

The security box is designed to be lagged to a tree or post (like F250DSLPWR described).
Since I change camera locations frequently, I use the strap that came with the camera to fasten the security box to a tree, and then put a chain around the tree with a padlock through the security box cover and two links of the chain.
