Hi everyone, I am the proud new owner of a BX2230. It has a FEL, 60"MMM and a rear bagger. I haven't got a chance to use it yet, but have a question regarding removal of the MMM. I coudn't turn the left rear anti-scalp wheel inwards because it hit the rear tire(turf tires). Is this normal? I did remove it, but am concerned the deck may not be mounted correctly. I look forward to talking more with you guys.

Thanks, John

Congrats on the fine purchase, I have a BX 22 and I can turn the wheels inward to take the mower off. Try if you haven't done so already to lower the mower nearly to the ground before turning the wheel inward, this will give the most clearance. If this doesn't work you may have an adjustment problem.

Don't worry about a thing.... I have the same problem with my BX22. I have found that changing locations and getting it on flat ground such as the driveway will make it easier. I have also found that sometimes I have to wiggle the deck a little. If all else fails just get a bigger hammer. Where in Central MA are you located. We have a "local TBN" chapter in Southern Central MA (Sturbridge) that meets every other Thursday at noon. Today was that "other". We would be glad to have you join us. Two hours of talking tractors with pros. I suggest that you read this thread. Important information for all new BX owners with MMM Decks...... MUST READ>>>>

I have the same thing with mine so I vote "normal"!

On my BX1800 I just drop the mower deck down some so it has more room. If it is all the way up, I have a real hard time making it work.

Don't forget to use the trick that the dealer does...use the FEL to raise up the front of the tractor while you're dragging the MMM off and on to the machine. (But don't put yourself under the machine under those circumstances!)

As to the clearance problem, I also have a "Very tight" clearance on the left rear anti-scalp wheel and have to manuver the MMM vertically to be able to rotate it into "skating" position.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like its nothing to worry about. In regards to Junkmans question: I live about 25 miles east of Sturbridge. It would be great to meet with you guys, but Thursday at noon is near impossible unless I'm on vacation.

Thanks again, John
