$2,500 MORE, WOW!!!!
Apparently the PT-2425 was designed for small contractors who would otherwise have to buy a big backhoe/loader tractor for digging. Unless you plan to dig a lot of basements or septic tank holes, the PT-425 with a MiniHoe, Potato Digger, and Bucket should easily handle any residential digging!! You certainly would not want a MiniHoe AND a Back Hoe!!

So what!! The PT-425 and the PT-2425 have the same rated lift capacity!!
There are way more advantages to having a short PT than a tall one!!
Stay away from ditches!! No ROPS!
"Watch out for that tree limb!!" No ROPS!

"The sun is really hot today!!" No ROPS!
"It's starting to rain or snow!!" No ROPS!

I'm looking more for the landscaping capabilities of the machine and would do some light contracting with it like trenching, finish grading, material hauling, landscape walls, small ponds, ditch cleanouts, tree/stump removals etc. So, I don't plan to mow people's lawns with it that often, and my yard is less than an acre.

I wonder if anyone knows if the wheel motors are the same in the 2425 compared to the 425 or are they beefed up?

Yes, I would add some form of ROPS if needed, but the website says it is included which would be my hope.
