PT-425 Battery

HELP!! My battery is dead and need a new one. I have the Robin Engine and the battery is labeled 4-45 for a type. I have look a few places around on the web and have not had much luck finding one. I have found the same dimensions but the 4-45 has the two bottom cleats to hold it in place.

Has anyone found a good place to buy this battery ?

When the battery finally croaked in my PT425 after five years, I just pulled it out and took it to Auto Zone, or Advanced Auto Parts, or whatever chain it was (there are three of them within 100 yards here) and had them get me the one with the most CCA available in that case size. If they can't find one, do you have a Batteries Plus store near you? They can match anything for a price.

I think that is the size mine used also, but be very careful following exact model advice that you might get here. PT changes things all the time, and one member's machine may be slightly different than yours.

I bought the exact same battery model that another member with the same PT model said fit his machine, and the battery terminals turned out to be reversed from what mine needed.

There are at least two terminal arrangements for the 4-45 series. The best bet is to take the old battery in and make sure that the terminals match exactly.

As Moss said, take it in. The battery is unusual enough that it is a good idea to call around and make sure they have it in stock. I got mine at either O'Riellys, AutoZone, or Advance Auto. I just don't remember which.

O'Riellys.... that one just opened here last month 40' from one of the other parts stores. You can tell if you live in a poverty stricken part of town when there are more autoparts stores than repair shops... people have to repair their own cars because they can't afford a mechanic! Hmmm, that could apply to me and my Power Trac, too!!!
