I'm looking at various wagon/trailers to pull behind my PT to haul dirt, rocks, firewood, logs, etc.

Capacities and sizes range from 1,200 lbs to 4,000 lbs, and prices from 159.95 to 499.99 from Harbor Freight, Northern Tools, etc.

The wagons I'm looking at are 4 wheel ones (front steerable) with two triangular yokes connected by a round tube that allows length adjustment.

A bed or whatever would be added that bolts to 'bolsters' or brackets on the frame.

What experience do any of you PTers have with weight that can be pulled on the level and fairly steep hills by the PT425 (which weighs about 1400 lbs. + fuel + operator)?

Thanks!

I know you are looking at things that can be pulled, but have you considered the one that PT offers?

Take a look at these trailers: Country Manuf.
They may be the same ones that Northern and Harbor Freight have. This is the manufacturer, and I did not compare prices. I don't know if this is what you are looking for or not.

Hi smartguyz!

Thanks for the reply. I did look at this type of trailer, but I need the 4 wheeled type that I can use to haul logs and dump logs & dirt & rocks off the side.

Also, it will be used for some fairly long distances, 1/2 to 1 mile at a time. I think the power-dumper from PT would be hard to use that way.

At lease by having a trailer behind me, cars running into me will be slowed somewhat /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Just my luck, though, that that will happen when I'm hauling pipe or rebar or some other thing I don't want stuck in my back!

Mark H.

Thanks!

Country Manufacturing trailers enjoy an excellent reputation. I am seriously considering ordering one.

I have never seen anything like them in HF or Northern.

SnowRidge,

I saw in another topic that you had bought a Country Manufacturing 1-ton tandem.

How do you like it?
How's it holding up to East Tennessee hillsides?
Is is pretty stable on slopes?

I'm considering getting one to haul mulch with... seems it would be faster than tramming it by the bucket-full, and it's also about the same $$ as the LM bucket would run me.

Anyone else have any input on an affordable dump cart?

Many four wheel models I have seen are labeled as carts not trailers. You may want to do a google search for that.

Here's a link to one: 4 Wheel Cart
