yep, that is the way his 425 looks. It is red with bar tires and has the same hookup on front. He also has a 1418 like yours with a bucket.

I haven't run across in 2400 series but I did talk to a guy that has pruchased the backhoe piece for the 2425, mounted a quick attach plate and seat to it, and runs it on the front of his 425 using the auxillary connection. He said it performs well unless he is digging in hard ground. It tends to drag the tractor under these conditions. I am considering purchasing his machine.

David, I never even thought about asking any questions about used machines, but I was in Princeton, West Virginia, visiting my wife's family this week and since I was so close, I had to run over to Tazewell and visit the Power-Trac folks Monday. Very interesting place. If I should ever move back to the country, I think I'd sure want a 1430./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

hey dude, you have become the used pt dealer of this forum. are you making any money yet? wish you allot of luck with your searching, testing and selecting the right machine.

one suggestion, caution, me that i have earned my pt test pilot wings quite a while back .. be careful not to overpower the 425 with a too large of a backhoe. that larger backhoe so far out is not exactly a very safe situation. i could not wait for pt to get their 425 backhoe out and bought a lackender baby boomer ll ... that thing combined with the hydraulic power has gotten me into some rather precarious situations. i understand now why pt made a backhoe specifically for the 400 and 1800 series, you do not want the backhoe to take over when ripping away at rocks and roots, the rear end will come up and scare the living daylights out of you.

not a dealer. I just have agressively searched for a used one myself. I plan to share the ones that will allow it very soon. I own a software and computer services company. I basically just want a power trac for use as another toy.

i was just kidding about the used pt dealership.
i wish you all the BEST in your search. and if you let these poeple know about TBN, once you have made your selection, that would be great. with no dealer net it is important that we get as much information as possible. owners with old models have a wealth of information to pass on. especially that one who has several models in stock.

Charlie, Sean offered me a chance to test drive some of the equipment, but I didn't have a lot of time (and didn't want to waste too much of his time/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif), so the only thing I test drove was a little electric scooter they had made for their employees to use./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif You know they make a few neat toys besides the PT tractors.

They make those scooters because they tried to buy some for their plant and found them ridiculously expensive. Theirs use a Chevrolet starter motor.
The original Power Trac yard machine was done for the same reason. The owner wanted a garden tractor, and didn't see anything on the market with the versatility and in the price range he wanted. It worked so well he decided to market them.
Some of their machines make you want to own a mine, don't they?

any snow out your way? thanks for endorsing me .. a backhoe is a wonderful thing but cant get you in trouble, that is on any machine, even dedicated hoes, sooooo fast.

my first experiences were with (cable type) draglines three buckets filled a tri axle truck. i had one of those on it's side and back upright again, but that manoeuvre took a whole day.
