PTO driven Leaf Collection

Can anyone suggest a leaf collection system for a JD 4400? Ideally, it would work with belly mower operating and have a shoot to a collection system mounted on 3pt. hitch. Would or could Rear PTO assist to provide additonal suction into collection system attached to 3 pt. hitch? I don't even know if rear pto will operate with belly mower running?

I've recently purchased a similar system from a different vendor <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.trac-vac.com/>Trac-Vac</A>. They offer both PTO driven vacuum systems and self-powered (motor on vacuum trailer).

Based on a recommendation from my dealership, I chose to get the one that has its own engine on the system (Model 860 to be specific)...the logic behind that decision is that since I don't have live power to the PTO, when I clutched/stopped, the mower deck blades would keep turning, but the suction to the vac would stop (due to the clutch). By having a self powered system, there is always suction to the system regardless of the clutch status -- so there are many fewer clogs to worry about. I've used my about 16 hours with no chute clogging.

John Deere has a Materials Collection System (MCS) available that has its own separate engine. In addition there is a PTO system available from Trac-Vac (www.Trac-Vac.com). In answer to your question about PTOs, yes both Mid and Rear PTOs can be run either simultaneously or separately.
