Sprayer PTO Fan Sprayers

Hi, I need a pull behind PTO driven fan sprayer for spraying apple trees and wondered what brands you guys have or suggest. John Bean looks like a good brand as does Durand-Wayland. I think they are now the same company but does anyone have experience with any of these sprayers? Thanks for any info.

The most common sprayer in this area of Oregon is made by rears. I have an old old air blast sprayer and my neigbor also has one. They are quality manufactures as far as I know. I plan on buying a rears field sprayer next spring. I see lots of them for sale used around here.

I picked up a used FMC (Bean) 100 gallon 3 pt air blast sprayer this spring for $400. I use it in my high density orchard and hook it up to my L275DT. It works great on my small orchard but is quite a load for the tractor as it weighs about 400# empty. The sprayer of choice in this area is a Turbomist made in Canada by Slimline Manufactoring. They have several models available. I converted mine to electric valves controlled by a switch box on the tractors fender. This way there is no bulky hoses and valves nor risk from being hosed down with chemicals when a hose breaks or leaks.

How many acres are you going to spray. My uncle had 50 acres of apples and cherries where he used a 500 gallon orchard tank sprayer. It used a 4 cylinder engine to drive the fan and pump. I'm not sure what is available brand new these days, but four weeks ago, Ebay had two of these available for $500 each.

Just a couple of acres about 700 apple trees. The only place around me sells John Bean and they look like they are the best anyway. Thanks for everyones responses.
