Howdy,
Any wire will need to have 4 conductors. The wire will need to be somewhat flexible. The standard stuff which many places want to sell you would be 6/4 SOOW. I find that is ok, But... from more in depth reading learning and using, I have standardized on 6/4 Type W cord. The ampacity is a lot more for the 6 awg multi-conductor cable than SOOW type.
Such as
6/4 Type W is rated 87 amps
6/4 SOOW is rated 45 amps
Either way, Type W cord can not be found at your corner store.

My 30kw pto generator has 4 2/0 cables to the SB350 Anderson ends.
