Has anybody used a PTO generator with their 5610? If so, how did it work out for you?

Huh? What does a pto generator have to do with a certain brand of tractor?

Because it is a hydraulic pto and there may be an issue with driving a generator. I have also wondered if it is possible.

Hydraulic pto? So that is a toolcat specific thing?

Regardless, the toolcat - like other machines with a pto - should have a rated HP for the pto. Generators should also have a 'minimum HP' rating required. As long as one keeps the generator size below the tractor's rating, why would it have issues?

Does bobcat say one cannot run generators with it?

There is no direct drive for the 3pt pto as it is a hydraulic motor driven by fluid. It is rated for 25hp. I have also searched generators driven by skidsteers and never came up with a good answer.

The good answer is, IF the pto can hold a constant speed then it will work, and I bet it will.

As long as you realize that it will cost more in fuel to run the generator, with a "hydraulic powered" pto rather than a direct drive powered pto.

why would anyone use the Toolcat to generate power, it would be far cheaper to have a stand alone generator on gas or diesel plus no wear and tear on the Toolcat, just my opinion

Please tell me where "I" can buy an 1900 RPM 15kw diesel "stand alone" generator for $1.200.00?? How about at double that price??

That's what I paid for my Winco pto generator and I'd have the tractor anyway...

Convenience, cheaper price and not another engine to maintain.
We rarely have long power outages here, so I know the Toolcat will start and it would be easy to hook up to the PTO generator.

Exactly! This is what i was saying. Why would there be any reason to think it won't work? It is a standard 540 PTO with no restrictions given by Bobcat. If it was somehow not as reliable or didn't work as well as a mechanical PTO, wouldn't the manufacturer state that?
