PTO link system

Anyone have any experience with the PTO link system? kind of expensive. Is it worth the money? Other thoughts on attaching PTO attachments to make the job easier.

Personally, I'm not a fan of anything that extends the PTO shaft further than it needs to be. Just creates sharper angles on the PTO shaft, more wobble, more run out, harder on bearings, seals, etc. Eventually it will get wear, which will only make it worse.

A simple "trick" that works very well to get the PTO shafts on the shaft of the tractor is to align the splines and just slide the PTO shaft like 1/2" to 5/8" over the shaft on the tractor side.

Once the shaft is already started on the tractor side, you're not holding the weight of the PTO shaft anymore. So you can now worry about pressing the pin or pulling the collar and slide the shaft all the way in.

PTO shafts are pretty easy IF the shaft itself has been greased and slides in and out freely.

I spray mine down with Kearney Rust Cutter. Some of the best stuff I've ever used.

I looked at that PTO Link. For me I would have to have a setup for 7 or 8 PTO shafts. Doesn't make sense to spend that insane amount of money. And besides you still have to hook it up. It doesn't do it for you. Plus what ptsg said.

Back when I was a lineman I used to use Kearney rust cutter on just about everything on the pole, your right good stuff.

Power plant is where I discovered it. I keep it all the time now. It's expensive but well worth the money.

I've never heard of a PTO link system. What is it? PTOs always seemed to work just fine as is - not counting a few pinched fingers.... What am I missing?

I use a PTO quick connect. Yes it was not cheap but I feel it's much easier to connect than a standard PTO shaft. Been using it for 200 hrs of mowing - so far no sign of wear or ?

When doing a PTO hook up - I support the weight of the shaft with a bungee chord. Takes one factor out of the hook up equation.
