Hi Larry - Those great hi-res pix you just posted clearly show (once magnified) the same number: "50121509" on both pump sections... presumably a serial number or model series number of some sort. But the interesting part is the other set of numbers: "4028" and "4085"! I'll bet anything those numbers relate to either cavity dimensions or displacement... in metric units no doubt... or perhaps a specific pump component number.

Now I've just got to find the "link" to what's offered out there by Eaton.

I may have fallen off of a turnip truck, but I didn't fall off of a turnip truck last night. What photos?

Wet clay is certainly heavy... especially when dealing with a 36" bucket and possibly marginal flow for a 511 for now... but is it all about the weight? Or is there a bucket "suction" problem here too? I sense the latter plays a significant part.

It is a 24 inch bucket piled up about the size of the bucket, so it is over a bucket and 1/2. Also, it is not mud suction, as the more I hoe in the stick, the higher the boom can lift it.

MtnView. I dont think you have an suction leak since you reported no jerkiness ever.

Assuming your loader is exactly the same as mine I could probably give you a pretty good number if I assume there is no waste of pressured oil in the equalizing scheme. If you want to report the full amount of travel of your lift cyls and related extension of you (un) curl cyls during a raise, then the tolal fluid use would be calculable - and hence gpmvstime. Doing this with mine would require more work up and down ladder to duplicate bucket angle.

Larry, I will get those measurements for you in the future, may be a few weeks, got to many irons in the fire right now. Thanks for the offer to do the calcs.:)

Larry, how does one go about fixing a suction leak?

I took apart the whole suction path, while is a "tube" running from the sump to the pump. There are several flanged joints in this circuit for filters, rubber couplings between rigid pipe, plugged ports for optional gauging, etc. Everywhere theres a joint is a leakage possibility. I found many suspect places. It took a while to address them all. I seem to have no leaks now. Faster FEL - no jerkyness after sitting, higher free flow pressure shown on the gauge I added to the hyd pump output port. Last means more flow thru whatever restriction is inherent in the pressure side under free flow. Im seeing 700psi at 2500rpm fully warmed. Thats 7HP going to waste at full revs.

Well, today I passed 100 hours. :) Now I can crank the rpm up when hoeing. :D I had it around 2100 rpm today digging up 5-6 inch oak and youpon and had to slow the swing knob a turn or two. The 24 inch bucket was just taking one scoop to uproot this size tree. Tomorrow will try higher rpm while cleaing a fence row.

Those poor Texas trees don't have a chance now! :D Enjoy the higher RPMs and higher flow... and let us know how it goes! :) We need a full report!
